Under the guidance of a veterinarian, supports innovative translational models to impact drug development and discovery and improve human health. The candidate will partner across functional teams to contribute to research study design, in vivo model development and resource allocation. Conducts daily health checks, and manages the sentinel program. Follows written protocols for survival surgery in rodents and small animals, has proficiency in animal handling, experience in the administration of both inhalable and injectable anesthesia, and perioperative care.

Surgical procedures will include but not be limited to 1) Heart failure models 2) Fibrosis and chronic kidney disease models. 3) Vessel and ductal cannulations for drug metabolism and other research purpose 4) Implantation of radio telemetry devices. Independently carries out technical duties related to medical treatment, surgical assistance, dose and sampling, laboratory practices, supplies organization, and laboratory plus medical records management.   • Required: BS in Biology or related Animal Science Field
  • Preferred: MS degree with up to 1 year of experience or more

  • 2 years of research laboratory or animal field

  • AAALAS certification; ALAT, LAT or LATG
