As a Splunk Senior Security SE, you'll be the primary security domain expert within the Americas Public Sector Engineering organization. As a Security SE, your primary responsibility will be to drive our largest and most critical security opportunities and initiatives.

For strategic or critical and unique security opportunities, our Security SEs are responsible for actively participating in the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working with the sales team as a key technical advisor and advocate for our security products and services.

As a Technical Sales resource, you will identify and address technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction throughout all stages of the sales or technology evaluation process, and this person should be able to establish and develop and maintain positive relationships with key customer contacts throughout his her duration as a Splunk employee. The stages include, but not limited to, demonstration of Splunk products, technical Q&A, lunch n learns, lectures, proof of concepts, and on-site Pilots.

We seek a visionary that can demonstrate and articulate Splunk security products and solutions to customers either onsite or remotely (Webex), and at field marketing events such as conferences and trade shows.

You should also be willing to travel to visit prospects and customers throughout the region, and to engage in onsite customer work when required.

Are you ready to be the go-to security resource for multiple field Account teams as well as customers, as well as deliver security knowledge to other team members and customers in the form of brown-bag lunches, lectures, seminars or hack-a-thons?

Helpful attributes and differentiators:
  • You have real-world experience as a Cyber Threat Analyst and or Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst (7+ years)
  • Practical experience communicating the business value of a technical solution via executive-level briefings to CISO, CIO, CEO, etc.
  • Prior technical sales technical services experience 5+ years
  • Practical experience delivering software or other technical demonstrations to both technical and non-technical audiences -- experience doing so with Splunk is helpful in being successful
  • Experience crafting client-ready presentations, whitepapers, discussion documents, and RFP responses that are appropriately scoped, technically accurate, as well as structurally and grammatically precise
  • Experience administering both Linux and Windows systems - Linux expertise is helpful
  • Experience writing code scripting to automate tasks (Python, bash, Ruby, etc.) is a differentiator

  • Designing and implementing analytic dashboards or other visualizations in a production environment
  • Experience crafting enterprise wide solutions

Education:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or similar course of study - equivalent professional experience will be considered for highly-qualified individuals
