Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting and reporting of Corporate Incentives – Annual Variable Incentive Plan (AVIP) and Long-Term Incentive Plans (LTIP) for US and Non-US Plans, Performance Factor calculation, Deferred Stock Compensation and Severance Projects, among others.  The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing the budget and forecast, maintaining the excel files, preparing and loading journal entries to PeopleSoft, performing accounting reconciliations and preparing variance analysis on the data.


The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Excel,  will exhibit strong communication skills, possess good organization skills, be proactive and meet multiple deadlines.  In addition, the candidate should be capable of maintaining or developing strong customer relationships and be able interact with all levels of Management. 


  • Prepare the annual budget for AVIP and LTIP
  • Develop forecast and track expenses
  • Record monthly journal entries to the PeopleSoft ledger
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for assigned processes
  • Provide variance analysis for assigned processes (budget/forecast/actuals)
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial disclosures, such as Stock-Comp Footnote and EPS
  • Recommend and implement process improvements
  • Lead or coordinate initiatives or projects



    Required Qualifications

  • Attributes of a successful candidate: research and resolve challenges, multi-task, deadline oriented, communicate effectively (verbal and written), demonstrates ownership/initiative, detail oriented
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required  (pivot tables and advanced formulas)
  • Excellent data management skills
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts, principles and practices
  • In order to post for this position, you need the proper work authorization to work in the country where the position is located and not require relocation assistance


Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance industry experience, preferred
  • Completion of or progress towards CPA or MBA
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft, CUBUS, OBIEE, HP and HFM, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience
