The Senior Administrative Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to the VP of Strategic Capabilities and his team at New York Life.  This is a fast -paced role that requires the demonstrated ability of multitasking, setting priorities and meeting demanding deadlines.The Strategic Capabilities team is building new operational capabilities in New York Life's insurance business by partnering with other companies that have new technologies and capabilities. This is a an exciting and passionate team that is finding innovative ways to make it easier for more families to find peace of mind through the financial security and protection they need from New York Life.

This role is based at the New York Life 51 Madison Avenue, N.Y., N.Y. 10010 home office


The Senior Administrative Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage Executive Officer’s calendar and daily priorities, and assist with the day-to-day operations of their respective areas
  • Handle all aspects of administrative support in a timely and professional manner, including creation/review/revision of memos, letters, presentations, and reports
  • Handle meetings planning/coordination and phone coverage, including providing backup support for other administrative assistants
  • Prioritize phone, mail and email messages; respond to requests on behalf of managers; track and follow-up on deliverables; maintain files
  • Manage documents, including reviewing complaints, regulatory responses, and other sensitive documentation
  • Assist VP with onboarding new employees
  • Assist with travel needs
  • Assist with reporting for Senior Management
  • Order and maintain supplies, and handle other administrative duties as assigned
