Position Summary: CVS is seeking a new Senior Manager to join the Store Format & Analytics team that has been tasked with optimizing the CVS Front Store shopping format, based on customer trends in the evolving brick-and-mortar retail market. This specific role would have end-to-end responsibility for identifying data-based insights and delivering new innovations in CVS’s approach to customizing stores in a “localized” way.
The position is expected to provide excellent exposure to management across CVS’s business as well as ongoing professional development. This role would suit someone with a strong interest in retail, a robust analytic background and a passion for strategy and innovation. Required Qualifications: Strategy Consulting and/or Retail experience: 2+ years of post undergrad professional experience at a leading strategy consulting firm (e.g. Bain, BCG, McKinsey) or relevant retail company (e.g. Drug, Mass)
Preferred Qualifications: 1) Analytical Rigor: the ability to run and manage highly complicated quantitative analysis in a defect-free manner. Mastery of Microsoft Excel is critical to this role.
2) Structured and Logical Thinking: the ability to dissect a problem into an organized approach and quickly form a hypothesis against which to run test analysis.
3) Powerful Communication: the ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and on paper. Mastery of Microsoft PowerPoint is critical to this role.
4) Cross functional engagement: Highly developed relationship-building skills to foster effective working relations across the Retail Merchandising team, functional and divisional leaders, and the Corporate Executive Committee.
The candidate selected for this position will be a creative, out-of-the-box thinker who is intellectually curious with a demonstrated interest in learning. This person will also need to be a self-motivated, entrepreneurial, high-energy individual who can easily function in a high demand, performance-driven environment. He/she must be accustomed to working on multiple tasks in parallel, with large amounts of ambiguous data. This professional must demonstrate cross functional engagement, best demonstrated by the individual’s ability to gain credibility with team members and senior management.
