Senior Analyst - Corporate Insurance Risk

The Corporate Insurance Senior Analyst will support the development and implementation of risk financing strategies for United’s insurable risks.  This individual will be responsible for the placement and administration of select United insurance programs such as Workers’ Compensation and Employers Liability, Cyber, Crime, Surety, and Captive Insurer support. This includes developing content for renewal submissions, presentations to insurers, negotiating with insurers or state self-insurance departments, and performing required program administration. 
  • Design, negotiate and implement cost-effective risk financing for workers’ compensation and related collateral (including captive insurers and self-insured programs) to transfer or retain risks for related exposures in a manner consistent with the organization's risk appetite. 
  • Administration of assigned insurance programs (e.g., prepare submission, manage actuarial process (where applicable), review coverage proposals for accuracy, negotiate policy terms to optimize coverage, process invoices, manage excess recoveries, assist on claims as required) and support Safety with analytics and allocations.
  • Work with Procurement and Legal to provide advice and assist in negotiations of the insurance sections of technology and other contracts.
  • Captive administration including preparation for annual board meeting, monitoring financial transactions and cash flows.
  • Support the Risk Management group on special projects as required
  • High level of financial and analytical skill
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply basic actuarial methods
  • Experience managing large data sets including using Microsoft Access and Excel to analyze data into useful decision making frameworks



  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance or equivalent required
  • 2-5 years in finance, accounting, risk management or related field
  • MBA or similar advanced degree preferred
  • Actuarial coursework preferred
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or equivalent designation preferred
  • CPA or other financially based certification preferred
