Context for this position: The Funding Management Analyst is responsible for the management of all front store merchandising vendor funding activities and analysis, as well as analytical support for all lines on the category P&L and other category related financial impacts. The role will also be responsible for ADHOC analytical support to generate and interpret financial and business specific analysis as well as creating forecasts and communicating variances to business owners and senior management.

The analyst will use analysis of supplier allowance funding trends and forecasts to identify risks and opportunities which may impact category profitability.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

·Analyze and enhance funding capture through performing opportunity audits, analyzing funding rate declines, identifying funding mix shifts, and advising Category Management on opportunities to maintain or improve overall funding capture and rate, thereby optimizing profitability,

·Support Category Management by providing and interpreting various financial and business specific analysis and forecasts,with a specific focus on Supplier Allowances,

·Engage cross-functionally across the organization to drive results and resolve issues encountered by the team including the ability to assess and course-correct as necessary

·Articulate conclusions and recommendations to the leadership team and category management.

·Develop analytical materials and prepare material and presentations in a way that can be easily understood by others who may not have the same background or expertise.

·Partner closely with business owners to breakdown business questions, design analysis and determine required data

·Enhance and enforce documentation, archiving,and audit processes for agreements with vendors.

·Assist in the development of annual plans and budgets for vendor funding, working with the leadership team.

·Work on special projects, ad hoc analysis, and initiatives


Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a related field. (Finance, Economics, analytics, Mathematics, and/or other quantitative degrees)

Experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:
Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills

Ability to conceptualize complex quantitative analysis and build analytical models using Microsoft Excel (or if limited experience – quickly learn to be an expert in Excel)

Ability to communicate to management & key stakeholders with poise and credibility

Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and in writing via Microsoft PowerPoint

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines

Ability to develop effective working relationships with Finance & other stakeholders

Ability to work independently and adapt to changing work priorities

An open and honest communication style that quickly builds trust and respect

Advanced Excel modeling, Access, and/or SQL programming skills

Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Math or Economics or its equivalent. (Masters or MBA will be a plus)
