Job Description

DUTIES: Discover Products Inc. seeks Senior Associate, Analytics in Phoenix, AZ, to develop and enhance credit risk management strategies, including Credit Eligibility Strategies for proactive targeting of Sales, Cash or Balance Transfer promotions. Leverage customer level information and predictive models to maximize profits, while using efficient trade-offs among key business metrics such as credit losses, receivables, and profit. Collaborate with marketing teams to customize strategies based on usage and loyalty. Translate business objectives into analytical framework and solve them by using optimal trade-offs between risk and revenue metrics. Work in a cross-functional environment with Decision Science, Marketing, Finance, and other teams. Establish and maintain effective strategy performance tracking to ensure strategies are performing as expected. Apply key learnings to update strategies and policies in a timely manner. Establish effective risk controls in the strategies. Design and implement comprehensive tests and evaluate financial impact from various treatments. Make profitable decisions by means of optimization schemes, customer segmentation and predictive models. Maintain integrity of policies by conducting periodic reviews. Provide audit support. Facilitate implementation discussion with operational teams to ensure accuracy and soundness of execution. Design and implement strategies to avoid financial loss including line decrease and closure program and other high risk activities. Promote a risk-aware culture to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.


REQUIREMENTS : Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related quantitative field and one (1) year of experience in job offered or related occupation conducting statistical data analyses in the credit industry for a global financial institution utilizing statistical software and analytical tools including SAS, SQL, and R; conducting predictive analyses, data mining, reporting, and optimization; working with machine learning methods; conducting multiple concurrent project management; and applying knowledge of the credit industry, credit risk management, and business metrics.
