Senior Automation Test Engineer

As a Senior Test Engineer at Capital One, you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the best talent in the industry in developing test scenarios for unit, process, function, integration and acceptance testing. You will define and maintain test system configurations and perform test executions while writing test scripts for complex, integrated systems.

- Develop, maintain and execute automation tests to ensure sufficient test coverage of Android applications

-          Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand project objectives, gather automation requirements, design automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable test automation solutions

-          Develop high quality automation test engineering best practices, test strategy and principles

-          Follow defect tracking processes; including software defect documentation, defect tracking tool (JIRA, Version1) utilization, ensuring open defects are monitored and escalated as needed based on aging and priority

-          Partner with Software Engineers, UX/UI, quality Engineers, Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high performing quality customer experiences that are engaging, purposeful and powerful in their simplicity

-          Actively participate in all team agile ceremonies and contributing to ensure that all team commitments are delivered on time and of the highest quality

-          Closely monitor industry trends and progress in the mobile automation tool space, develop proof of concepts as need to validate the potential impact to our test delivery process

-          Participate in automation script code reviews and provide guidance on their compliance with automation best practices

-          Actively engage with quality engineers outside of the local sprint team across various disciplines (Android, iOS, APIs, Web, etc.)

-          Responsible for helping to identify gaps and needs of the agile team; including resources, skills, resource allocation, task assignment and delegation

-          Assess readiness and deviation of project performance based on identified risks and testing results

-          Perform initial debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs, or code pieces to determine breakdown source

-          Experience assessing risk for determining appropriate levels of testing

-          Demonstrated skills using code repositories like GitHub

-          Experience with CI/CD with Hudson/Jenkins in parallel tools

-          Experience assessing risk for determining appropriate levels of testing

-          Ability to handle multiple large projects simultaneously

Basic Qualifications

-          Bachelor's degree or military experience

-          At least 5 years of QA Automation Engineering experience

-          At least 4 years of experience with Testing Mobile Applications (Native and Hybrid apps)

-          At least 4 years of experience in mobile test automation using Cucumber or At least 4 years of experience in mobile test automation using Ruby or At least 4 years of experience in mobile test automation using Calabash or At least 4 years of experience in mobile test automation using Appium

-          At least 3 years of Ruby Scripting or At least 3 years of Java Scripting experience

- At least 2 years of Object Oriented software development experience in C# or At least 2 years of Object Oriented software development experience in C/C++

-         At least 1 year of experience in Acceptance test driven development (ATDD) methodology

-          At least 2 years of experience in quality tools ALM or At least 2 years of experience in quality tools QC or At least 2 years of experience in quality tools Selenium or At least 2 years of experience in quality tools QTP

Preferred Experience

-          6 years of experience in an Automated Quality Testing environment

-          2 years of experience in an agile continuous integration environment

-          2 years of experience in overseeing testing activity of multiple testers
