Help guide the team to improve and develop new dashboards and scorecards
Will serve as technical project lead on most projects (1-2 developers)
Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced personnel
Develop and document detailed designs based on requirements in a business intelligence/data warehouse environment
Work closely with Business Analysts, Product Managers, and end users to understand business rules and interpret data
Manage report Security & Distribution by working with Data Source owners who will authorize what groups or individual can access data
HIPAA compliance filtering, which limit report users to only what is required for their job or role
Troubleshooting and problem solving for production issues and end user inquiries
Set up and configure new customers
4+ years experience in software engineering
Experience with Cognos tools such as Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Cognos Workspace Advanced and Cognos Connection
Strong experience building complex reports, dashboards, and scorecards
Data modeling experience using Framework Manager
Strong technical, SQL, analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
Experience analyzing data and interpreting results
Experience in writing Oracle PL/SQL is a plus
Experience working in an open source environment (Oracle, Red Hat Linux, OpenLDAP)
Experience working with the IBM Cognos Java SDK
Ability to establish effective working relationships and contribute in a team environment
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
