Current Need
  • Help guide the team to improve and develop new dashboards and scorecards

  • Will serve as technical project lead on most projects (1-2 developers)

  • Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced personnel

  • Develop and document detailed designs based on requirements in a business intelligence/data warehouse environment

  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Product Managers, and end users to understand business rules and interpret data

  • Manage report Security & Distribution by working with Data Source owners who will authorize what groups or individual can access data

  • HIPAA compliance filtering, which limit report users to only what is required for their job or role

  • Troubleshooting and problem solving for production issues and end user inquiries

  • Set up and configure new customers

 

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
4+ years experience in software engineering

Critical Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of strong IBM Cognos Business Intelligence (most with version 10.x) development experience
  • Experience with Cognos tools such as Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Cognos Workspace Advanced and Cognos Connection

  • Strong experience building complex reports, dashboards, and scorecards

  • Data modeling experience using Framework Manager

  • Strong technical, SQL, analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities

  • Experience analyzing data and interpreting results

  • Experience in writing Oracle PL/SQL is a plus

  • Experience working in an open source environment (Oracle, Red Hat Linux, OpenLDAP)

  • Experience working with the IBM Cognos Java SDK

  • Familiarity with Perl, Java, JavaScript, ETL, and Shell Scripting is a plus

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and contribute in a team environment

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter

Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
