National Compliance is responsible for overseeing Verizon Wireless policies, processes, people and systems and partnering with business leaders to identify and mitigate financial, operational, legal, regulatory and reputational risks facing the business unit. The Sr. Analyst of Compliance UAT is responsible for the evaluation of planned changes (Enterprise release and change controls) to major systems and develops test cases and execute user acceptance testing to minimize risks to the business.
Responsible for UAT testing of enterprise applications for all scheduled enterprise releases to test for process weaknesses and control gaps.
Assess and mitigates risks introduced during planned releases and control changes by evaluating systems to ensure proper internal controls are functioning as intended.
Lead cross-functional business teams to drive enhancements that improve the control environment.
Partner with cross-functional teams and business leaders nationally to design system enhancements and troubleshoot technical issues that involve the prevention, detection and response to control related risks and deficiencies.
Leverage professional expertise and judgment to evaluate, develop, test and approve proposed enhancements for the assigned VZ systems, ensuring proper functionality and controls.
Use system experience and channel background to develop and execute test cases to identify control gaps and weaknesses.
Collaborate and strategize with other UAT testers in the business to share priorities, test cases and resources to minimize redundancies and improve UAT efficiencies throughout the organization.
Communicate results by developing presentations and communications that clearly communicates trends and gaps in the context of system testing process. Leverage strong business acumen, presentation and communication skills to create and present information in a relevant, consumable, meaningful, and insightful ways.
A Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Business, Finance or related field; or equivalent experience.
Two or more years experience testing applications (e.g. POS, Billing, Front-ends, etc.), with a concentration in operations, Compliance, business controls, audit, or Finance or two or more years of hands on experience using systems applicable to the channel supported.
Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile and SQA methodologies.
Experience analyzing current business and system processes for potential areas of improvement, writing test scenarios and coordinating with business and technology partners regarding feedback and sign-off.
Proven experience evaluating system process flows, interpreting technical documents, developing test cases that test control environment and executing effective testing within tight timeframes.
Proven experience leveraging auditing principles and methods to evaluate policies, processes and systems to identify business risks and control gaps.
Strong Project Management experience with the proven ability to work on multiple projects concurrently leveraging excellent organization and time-management skills.
Experience working with cross-functional teams to create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs.
Experience providing business-related/and or technical subject matter expertise on large, highly complex reporting projects and business analytics to support management, multifunctional departments, staff members, and peers.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analytics and presentations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) certification.
CAPM (Certified Associate of Project Management) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
Proven ability to plan for and manage numerous processes and ad hoc requests simultaneously, effectively prioritize tasks and meet customer requirements for timeliness and accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate business-related/and or technical subject matter expertise to IT peers, Business Partners and executives; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence large teams and functional leaders.
High level of curiosity and investigative mind-set with an attention to detail and accuracy along with a passion to learn new techniques with enthusiasm. Passion for systems testing and how they will change business.
