Current Need
McKesson’s well regarded Law Department is seeking an experienced litigation attorney as Senior Counsel for its Corporate Litigation Group.  This position can be located in either San Francisco, CA or Atlanta, GA or Washington, DC.
 
Position Description
Provide litigation support for all business units of the Company. Senior Counsel will be responsible for the management of existing and anticipated litigation, subpoenas and government inquiries.  This is a rare opportunity to work across the corporation and gain experience and knowledge of our many businesses.  This attorney must be able to manage outside counsel and facilitate all aspects of litigation and anticipated litigation, including eDiscovery obligations.  This position will report to the Chief Counsel responsible for Litigation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
10+ years of experience providing legal counsel and litigation expertise to clients.
 
Critical Skills
  • Strong litigation experience
  • In-depth legal knowledge that allows for expeditious problem identification, including familiarity with areas of law that arise in corporate settings (e.g., employment and contract disputes, class actions, antitrust and securities).
  • Ability to work closely and facilitate collaboration with business unit attorneys, legal assistants, and those responsible for eDiscovery at the Company.
 Additional Knowledge & Skills
  • Combination of large firm and in-house experience highly preferred
  • Strong business acumen dealing with risk management and organizational savvy
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with an ability to provide sound, clear legal advice to clients
  • Agility in managing simultaneous projects in an efficient and timely manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • A combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred
 
Education
Juris Doctor Degree with excellent academic credentials. Active member of a state bar in good standing
 
Certifications
Additional certifications required or desired, if relevant.
