American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) is the global leader in travel management services large and middle market companies. GBT became a joint venture, owned by American Express and private investors, in July 2014. Overview:
Reporting into the Head of Global Brand, this is a key role on the Global Marketing team and is highly visible within the organization and to GBT leadership. At a high level, this role is responsible for both maintaining GBT's brand and visual identity as well as generating new and interesting ways to engage customers while staying within the boundaries of strict brand guidelines.

Our ideal candidate has the expertise to create original, impactful visual designs to effectively communicate our sales and marketing strategy, while working within the constraints of a well-established brand. The right candidate will also have strong branding experience and use professional design techniques to set GBT apart from the competition.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage high-end digital and print collateral including presentations, interactive digital tools, factsheets, PowerPoint slides and decks, print ads, banner ads, infographics, web pages, videos, email templates, etc.
  • Identify the best medium and packaging (i.e., not only PowerPoint presentations) to present our message to set GBT apart from the competition
  • Manage and provide creative direction for the development of online advertising, media, and digital efforts including videos and other mediums
  • Act as GBT's "brand expert" and main point of contact to internal teams on the production of creative assets to ensure compliance with strict brand guidelines
  • Own the global GBT Brand & Visual Identity Guidelines and support key stakeholders with logo size and placement, color and font review, branded URL review, product name review, and brand education
  • Own and manage the image library, video library, brand assets and templates, the internal employee Brand page, and external sites (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.)
  • Partner across the organization on ad hoc projects, design support and ideation, and brand guidance
  • Vet, onboard, and guide agencies and vendors to develop content and assets as needed
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships for brand-related needs including: global company websites, product updates, partner sponsorships, marketing collateral development, promotional marketing items, and global stationery
  • Own and manage several online and internal operating systems to support the brand and review processes (SharePoint, Intralinks VIA, Brandfolder, etc.)
  • Conduct brand review of collateral and partner closely with Compliance, Legal, and American Express to support the Brand & Marketing Review process of all external-facing materials
  • Act as the back-up reviewer for the Brand & Marketing Review process
  • Potential to own and manage the Brand & Marketing Review Process which includes acting as the review process liaison with American Express, the joint venture, and our travel partner network
  • Potential to manage one direct report (marketing review process analyst)
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience designing marketing collateral in a corporate marketing department within strict brand guidelines
  • Experience designing for a B2B or B2B2C business model
  • Strong brand development and management skills (taglines, value props, pillars, etc.)
  • Experience creating visual identity guidelines (fonts, palettes, logos, etc.)
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills with ability to create new and engaging templates/themes that are easily adaptable for use by any employee
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Design Suite skills (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
  • Proven verbal communication skills and leadership skills
  • Experience maintaining and enforcing brand and visual identity guidelines throughout a global corporation
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to collaborate well with internal and external partners
  • Positive attitude and strong ability to act professionally when dealing with all levels of the organization and across global cultures
  • Experience negotiating contracts with agencies and vendors
  • Experience guiding agencies and providing art direction to develop content and assets
  • Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently to completion within deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment

Preferred experience:
  • Adobe After Effects & Adobe Premiere
  • SnapApp, Camtasia, and/or HTML 5

  • Compliance review processes
  • Experience with master brand trademark license agreements
  • Experience in the travel industry, financial services industry, or an institutional organization

This position works out of our Jersey City, New Jersey office.
