Sr. Director, U.S. Client Marketing - Regional Financial Institutions & Marketing Strategy Payment Platform & Partnerships Overview:

The Regional, Community Financial Institutions and Credit Unions are key client partnerships for Visa. There is a large opportunity to develop a framework and strategy to drive marketing engagement, growth and payment volume across key segments within the regional portfolio. These banks can benefit from an engagement strategy that helps drive top line growth in their credit and debit card business where they need expertise, direction and support from their partnership with Visa. Our focus is to move from just a turnkey model to a segmented focus where we can activate and grow the portfolios across the strategic partners.
The Senior Director of U.S. Client Marketing will develop the strategic framework to drive marketing engagement across the Regional, Community Financial Institutions and Credit Unions along with supporting the development of the broader Issuer strategy for the client team. This role will leverage the Visa ecosystem to bring to life value driven marketing campaigns and programs for both top regional and more broadly across the smaller clients.
This role will have responsibility for supporting and executing components of a comprehensive plan consisting of direct marketing, sales collateral, and trade events among other elements of the marketing mix. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Regional Issuer website along with content updates and engagement. This position fills a key role in our expanded focus on client marketing efforts. This Sr. Director must be able to thrive and motivate people in a fast-moving, highly matrixed environment. He/she will be a results-oriented, flexible leader and have a "can do", positive attitude. This leader must have a strong track record of influencing across functional areas. This leader will lead a team of two people including one manager and one analyst. They must have people leadership experience with proven track record of developing high performing talent.
In addition to the Regional responsibilities, they will also lead the strategy for the Payment Platforms and Partnerships like PayPal, Visa Checkout and Mobile Pays. They will work across the client marketing team to bring to life a marketing approach each year that can be integrated across all client segments. Specific Responsibilities:
Partner with the Regional Issue teams to develop a marketing strategy that drives the right level of engagement and growth across this portfolio
Develop a segmented approach to working with the regional, community and credit unions where we can optimize resources and value across the right set of partners
Develop a marketing plan that has a clear focus on top line growth for both Visa and clients
Work with Visa NA Operations, Sales and Product to support defined B2B strategies for both Regional FIs and DPS by defining value propositions, messaging, and claims that are relevant and compelling to the target audiences
Support development of B2B and B2B2C marketing assets and programs that Visa can deliver for both Regional FIs and DPS clients
Drive the development of market ready materials (e.g., marketing guides, creative templates, whitepapers) for clients to adapt and market Visa products and services
Have a strong understanding of the complex and lengthy nature of the B2B sales process and have the ability to integrate marketing into the process to help drive sales
Partner with Visa client-facing teams (DPS, Sales, Sales Operations) to drive B2B marketing efforts to the Regional and Community client base, including B2B advertising, website maintenance and optimization, events and tradeshow support
Demonstrate the ability to develop, manage and deliver multiple and interdependent components of a complex and comprehensive B2B marketing effort Collaborate with Visa Performance Solutions to deliver end-to-endDeexecution of marketing programs leveraging Visa products initiatives and sponsorship assets (i.e., NFL, Olympics, Affluent assets) on behalf of clients
Manage key agency partners to execute integrated marketing programs that reflects the changing client landscape and leverages Visa's global brand strategy
Lead a team of two employees and develop top talent
Develop the Payment Platform and Partner strategy across all issuers (national, super-regional and regional)
BA required, MBA preferred
- Experienced, results-oriented marketer with at least 10 years progressively responsible business experiences with a proven track record in delivering marketing programs, B2B marketing required
- Experience in marketing roles that involve digital/social marketing and direct marketing
- Experience in developing client marketing programs and presenting to clients; management/marketing consulting or agency experience a plus
- Previous experience working in financial services- processing or financial institutions preferred
- Experience leading and developing top level talent
- Ability to lead in a very complex and matrixed organization
- Experience developing comprehensive marketing strategies that demonstrate a clear roadmap to driving top line growth across a broad range of partners
- Digitally savvy with track record of using digital and social effectively
- Strong strategic thinker with a results orientation who approaches any challenge with thoughtfulness, drive and appropriate urgency
- Executive presence and ability to present and represent Visa in senior executive meetings both internally and with clients
- Collaborative and "hands-on" team leader and player who builds strong relationships internally and externally, and works well under pressure, thriving under tight deadlines
