The Demand Planning Director is responsible for managing the demand planning of the complete portfolio including all configured options of all our hardware products and the after-market options and spares that support them.
The Demand Planning team works cross functionally with S&OP Planning team to understand the market factors and trends that impact demand for platforms and the configured options.
The Planning Managers reporting to the Demand Planning Director will drive planning strategies within their teams to best position material to achieve and balance the key metrics of forecast accuracy, shipment predictability and E&O.
Communication is critical to the role, being able to clearly articulate the analysis and assumptions that went into any plan proposal and present them with confidence to executive management is a fundamental part of the job.
The Director will guide a team of Planning Managers to
• Analyze trend and forecast data to make platform & configured option and independent plan proposals, including transition plans.
• Work with product managers to establish mix plans, including transition plans.
• Analyze trend and forecast data to make option level plan proposals, including transition plans.
• Review plan and consumption reporting in support of planning activities and to ensure accuracy. Trouble shoot set ups and BOMs to identify issues.
• Perform ad-hoc business analysis related to demand
• Communicate plan and consumption information as required to various functions within the company.
• Provide feedback on internal and revenue demand plans.
The Director will drive FVA (Forecast value Add) analysis of all parts planned and insure we only actively plan parts where we are adding value.
The Director will promote the use of Oracle's best in class VCP (Value Chain Planning) tools.
The Director is also responsible for working with Procurement, Finance and Accounting to establish any required financial reserves for E&O as well as review claims for carrying costs submitted by external manufacturers.
The Director will work with the S&OP Planning team in order to drive a consensus forecast at the platform level.
The ideal candidate will show keen attention to detail, be an independent thinker and take proactive actions when they see an opportunity for improvement.
Top skill sets/education in the ideal candidate:
• Proven analytical background
• Moderate to advanced knowledge of Excel
• Supply/demand planning using MRP/ERP. Familiarity with the Oracle Value Chain Planning (VCP) tool suite including Demantra and ASCP are a plus.
• Proven Leadership/Management skills
• Familiarity with supply chain operations, S&OP process
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• BS/BA & MS/MBA
