The Senior Director of Global Media Operations leads the strategy for Media Operations to optimize for revenue growth and the future state of the media business with Sales leaders. You ensure the satisfaction of our clients, stay current with the industry, and innovate on new ad products. You also manage and create partnerships to advance the business; lead and develop individual and team performance; collaborate across the organization; and manage budgets and resource planning. You articulate vision and action plans clearly in presentations, both internally and externally.

The ideal candidate brings experience in ad operations, client marketing, sales planning, and inventory management and yield, with a foundation in analytics acumen that enables you to understand and optimize data to monetize, interpret, and inform results.

This is a full-time position, preferably at BabyCenter headquarters in San Francisco but possibly in New York or Chicago for the right candidate.

 
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term strategy for our media business and support teams, focusing on BabyCenter as a premium publisher. Technical and systems automation with a focus on revenue optimization is key to opportunities today.
  • Grow programmatic and data monetization as key areas of revenue.
  • Direct ad product ideation and scalability with the product and engineering teams.
  • Optimize and own high-level vendor relationships such as Google, Salesforce, Operative, Krux, and AppNexus and develop others to improve, simplify, and manage business needs.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of four direct reports and their reports, optimizing resources, priorities, communication, and structure to deliver objectives and results.
  • Collaborate with VP of Global Sales and Director of JNJ Partnerships to deliver revenue goals.
  • Manage budgets for media operations, working closely with finance to shape plan to deliver.
  • Participate on the BabyCenter senior leadership team to drive the overall strategy and culture of the organization and achieve shared goals.


Qualifications
  • 10+ years in internet media
  • 7+ years in ad operations and/or client marketing, and sales support
  • 7+ years of people management with proven passion for development and growth of teams
  • 2+ years of data and programmatic monetization with systems familiarity
  • History of vendor management and understanding, e.g. DoubleClick, Salesforce, and DMP
  • Analytics acumen to understand the metrics of success and calculate your way there
  • Successful large and small, client partnership management
  • Experience and skill at presenting to senior leaders and large audiences
  • Strong business acumen with a history of leading teams that deliver profitable and scalable ad solutions
  • Organized and knowledgeable; process excellence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree; master's degree a plus
