Senior Director of Revenue Cycle Operations

This position will provide centralized management of all revenue cycle functions including but not limited to billing and collections, denials management, registration, intake, verification, cash posting and reconciliation, provider credentialing, and enrollment. The Director, Revenue Cycle Operations directs, manages, and implements programs and processes to increase revenue and support the organization's operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead the management of, and drive strategies to maximize reimbursement for all business lines of physician practices and ancillary services
  • Lead Revenue Cycle Operations and Provider Credentialing/Enrollment, fostering an environment of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Own and deliver on P&L and operational expectations
  • Identify and implement operational efficiencies across the revenue cycle focused on process improvement, standardization, and documentation of all systems and processes
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve all revenue cycle issues in a timely manner in collaboration with internal and external customers
  • Develop/modify written policies and procedures to ensure business functions of departments are performing accurately, efficiently, and ethically
  • Monitor compliance with all third-party payer requirements, exception handling, appeals, and denials
  • Determine key performance indicators and targets for each functional area and manage to those targets
  • Monitors the write-off process and credit balance process timely, to ensure all efforts are made to collect on due balances and refund balances as appropriate
  • Provides oversight of cash posting department to ensure payments are posted and reconciled timely and in compliance with payor contracts
  • Lead and develop revenue cycle staff through mentoring and coaching
  • Other duties/projects as assigned
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or comparable years of leadership and revenue cycle experience
  • Minimum 5 years of steadily advancing leadership roles
  • Experience in revenue cycle operations
  • Ability to execute on operational concepts and achieve measurable targets
  • Experience with organizations that have billings of at least $100M annually
  • Effective communicator with the ability to partner with shared stakeholders to achieve mutual success
  • Demonstrated experience with prior implementation of revenue cycle initiative(s)
  • Experience providing service level agreements to internal and external customers
  • Experience creating departmental policies and standard operating procedures
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in physician revenue cycle operations
  • Experience with credentialing/enrollment
  • Experience managing a large team (50+)
  • Ability to motivate team and create a culture of accountability at all levels
