Our Medical Devices Sector is undergoing a significant transformation delivering a streamlined portfolio and infrastructure to reinvest resources in accelerating innovation.  The Program Management Office will play a critical role supporting our organization to deliver all projects and creating value for the Enterprise.


The Senior Director, Program Management, Medical Device – Spend Optimization will be responsible for global governance of One Medical Device (OneMD) SMART Spend Program. This person will play a central role educating OneMD employees and leadership on SMART Spend principles, implementing SMART processes, and enabling SMART spending targets to be achieved. This leader will play a primary role in:

  • Serving as the primary cross-functional project manager for the OneMD SMART spend
  • Providing the leadership and capability to enable business choices/cost savings initiatives and deliver FY 2017 SMART spending targets
  • Educating the relevant stakeholders on SMART governance and performance review process, and individual roles & responsibilities
  • Ensuring timely generation and distribution of SMART Financial Reporting and Operational KPIs
  • Standing up the SMART actuals management review process, and successfully facilitating the regular cycle of analysis, performance reviews and action planning
  • Working with finance, support the development of the SMART budgeting approach, and delivering the 2017 / 2018 budget in accordance with SMART Budgeting methodology
  • Moderating SMART category performance reviews, sharing and implementing best practices across regions and categories.
  • Helping to engage the Global Operating Committee (GOC) with recommendations on actions and initiatives to reduce spending and capture savings opportunities
  • Working with change management to facilitate adoption of SMART principles and processes within the Organization

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced degree, CPA, CMA or other financial certification preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience and 7 years’ experience leading large scale projects is required
  • Outstanding organization leadership – skilled at people leadership and change management 
  • Proven ability to execute and get results through leading others, organizing, prioritizing and delegating a high volume workload is required
  • Proven track record of success leading a significant global project is required
  • Must have strong finance and project management skills, as well as excellent collaboration and ability to work across a matrix
  • Direct people management experience is required
  • Ability to foster team productivity and cohesiveness and work collaboratively in a complex, matrix environment with multiple, and demanding stakeholders is required
  • Superior ability to collaborate with peers, leaders and senior executives to build and execute strategies and drive decision-making is required
  • Project & Process Excellence: Lean/Six Sigma qualification and ability to set business, technical and/or organizational direction, alignment, coordination and focus is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required
