Lead and participate in activities for the development of electronics systems compliment for Genalyte's Maverick Gen II instrumentation product.
Collaborate with systems engineering to create, curate and maintain well-formed requirements for all electronic subsystems.
Provide technical oversight to out-sourced electronics design projects to ensure design requirements, constraints, milestones and deliverables are satisfied.
Assist in project management of multiple ongoing projects. Work with internal and external resources to achieve goals. Ensure development work conforms to Genalyte's product development process.
Participate in design space exploration, design reviews, components selection trade-offs, power and cost considerations, manufacturability, field service, robustness and risk assessment of proposed designs.
Participate/lead in risk/hazard analysis and remediation at system, sub-system and component levels.
Detailed technical review of design output such as: schematics, critical signal routing, isolation, signal integrity, EMI and noise immunity, IC package selection, power distribution, surge management, mechanical compatibility and testability.
Create and assist in creation of test plans that include: characterization of high-speed mixed signal components, off-board digital comm., noise susceptibility of critical signals, noise-bandwidth performance etc.
Work closely with RTL/firmware designers in creation of test images for critical digital and analog components. Provide electrical testing support as appropriate
Participate in planning activities that span multiple projects such that interdependencies are satisfied and critical paths are closely managed.
Own prototype PCBA bring-up activities. Work with internal and external resources so that issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
Work with system engineering to create formal verification and validation test plans and methods.
Manage project cost, cost reduction initiatives and obsolescence mitigations.
Train electrical technicians to understand and execute detailed verification testing plans.
Create design documentation, descriptions, rationale, trade-off analysis and document key design decision.
Initiate and conduct IQ, OQ, PQ validations for design changes, processes changes and test equipment as necessary.
