Work closely with Infrastructure Engineering Manager to act as the focal point of complex technical initiatives, including:

  • Consult and assess dynamic I.T. environments of our newly acquired customers
  • Design customer solutions, including resilient networking, directory services, storage area networks, virtualization and backup systems
  • Working knowledge of best practices pertaining to implementation and migration projects including using reference architectures and design solutions
  • Perform troubleshooting role for major customer impacting issues, while collaborating with other operational and engineering teams
  • Research and present to customers on merits of proposed solutions, including in‐depth understanding of pros / cons, along with ability to select the optimal vendor mix
  • Work closely with Project Management team to lead the engagement lifecycle, including project scoping, Statements of Work, project plans, and service delivery updates
  • Perform service delivery at customer sites and working remotely, while minimizing interruption to live customer systems
  • Work with various methodologies and best practices in areas such as change management, service continuity, and continual service improvement
  • Design detailed Standard Operating Procedures for Engineering and IT Outsourcing teams, including standards definition and configuration walkthroughs
  • Work closely with Account Managers and internal staff to assist in anticipating growing customer needs and actively engaging to discuss areas of improvement and potential sales opportunity


Extensive technical expertise in MOST of the following areas:

  • Directory Services and Messaging - AD and Exchange ‐ Experience migrating and upgrading customer messaging environments, along with mobile platforms
  • SAN's and Virtualization - Advanced knowledge of design and operational best practices for virtualization solutions ‐ Experience with EMC, EqualLogic or NetApp SANs, along with ESX implementations and P2V
  • Networking - High level awareness of Firewall/IDS, Routing, Switching, Wireless ‐
  • Exposure to desktop virtualization solutions such as XenApp
  • Existing or ability to achieve certifications such as VCP, CCNP, MCSE, and CCEA is highly desirable (Extensive ongoing technical training will be provided.)

Non‐technical experience in the following areas:

  • Easily communicate with technical and non‐technical audience
  • Experience and personality to diffuse difficult customer situations
  • Extensive knowledge of Visio and PowerPoint to create professional documentation and presentations
  • Ability to function independently, prioritize and act as a mentor to junior engineering staff and members of other teams
  • Ability and desire to occasionally work evenings, nights or travel to client locations
  • Experienced working in a high energy professional services or consulting firm preferred, but not required

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and certification in IT related field
  • Windows Server platform, virtualization, infrastructure configurations, server management, storage, and networking
  • Familiar with standard IT practices and policies
  • Eagerness to contribute
  • Ability to travel locally
