Summary Description
Sr. Financial Analyst within the US Energy Services team. This team drives all financial aspects of a ~$250M organization that delivers value-add services to customers through consulting, modernization, start-up and on demand projects in an exciting, fast-paced, growth-driven environment.

Main Mission
This position will assume a key role with the Energy Services team by supporting all financial processes, with a focus on tracking, analyzing & communicating actual and projected financial performance versus expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tracking & measurement of financial results to expectations, within monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
  • Analyze business lines by accounts, categories, perform trend analysis, identify and correct mapping errors and address root cause issues
  • Prepare closing commentary for Energy Controller team to support month-end reporting deliverables
  • Build underlying P&L trend analysis and support Business Leaders with their full P&L responsibilities to drive profitable growth
  • Respond to inquiries from management and provide concise, effective summary of findings
  • Build forecast projections by analyzing backlog, COGS, headcount and allocations
  • Monthly close activities including account reconciliations, G/L analysis and journal preparation utilizing Business Intelligence tools
  • Coordinate with offshore shared services teams to understand anomalies
  • Interact effectively with finance teams and Business Leaders to complete monthly consolidation processes for the Services organization
  • Identify opportunities to develop and implement continuous improvement processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness of the team and wider organization
  • Work with finance peers in a strong team atmosphere, collaborating, influencing and improving items outside of normal ownership

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting role
  • Strong data mining & reporting skills (Microsoft Office Suite including pivot tables, vlookups, SUMIFs, etc.)
  • Ability to adapt to new systems and applications quickly and to proactively explore functionality within
  • Prior experience needed: SAP, Hyperion (Essbase), SQL
  • Prior experience preferred: Tableau, Salesforce.com
Working relationships
  • Direct report to US Services Finance leader
  • Success will depend on the ability to build relationships with Finance peers and the Services organization
