Senior Financial Analyst

Eaton’s Corporate Research and Technology Group is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst. The Senior Financial Analyst will be based at our corporate office in Beachwood, OH. 

Position Overview:

The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the CRT finance and accounting team responsible for CRT financial, accounting and periodic reporting activity to support the Controller and Corporate Research & Technology leadership team. The role also helps to develop and coordinate funding portfolio, profit plan and monthly forecasts.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Performs month end close and monthly forecasting for the CRT & AMCoE organization
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Analyzes budget variances to recommend continuous improvement opportunities
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information
  • Secures financial information by completing data base backups
  • Develops, implements and improves business process internal controls
  • Reviews project budgets and identifies risk of over-spend & under-spend
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Identify risks and opportunities within our assets and liabilities and provide insight to Controller
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting/finance experience is required.
  • No relocation offered; candidate must reside within 50 miles of Eaton location in Beachwood, Ohio.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.  
  • Oracle or similar ERP system experience.

  • Systems aptitude (PC, Oracle)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work well independently and in team environment
  • Ability to work across different time zones & regions
  • High standard of customer service/support
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Sarbanes-Oxley, and Eaton Policy and Procedures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
