Senior Financial Analyst for Selective Removal Products (SRP)

Selective Removal Products Business Summary
The Selective Removal Products (SRP) business unit and the broader Patterning, Packaging Group (PPG) are the leading part of the current and ongoing growth of Applied Materials, and are key elements of its strategic position in the semiconductor equipment market. This role is critical to analyzing program investments, R&D investments and profitability of new technology being launched into the market.

Job Summary:

Major Responsibilities
This position requires an individual who is comfortable working with senior managers and first line managers to identify and drive change within the business unit and across the business segment. Duties will require the ideal candidate to:
  • Interface with senior management in the business unit to drive operating expense management and prioritization across the SRP business unit
  • Lead and drive SRP operating expense budgets by engaging senior management in business, engineering and operations departments
  • Drive SRP project / waterfall analyses and partner with operations & Center of Excellence spending analyst team to drive actual spending to targeted levels
  • Provide value-add participation in the quarterly update of R&D program business case NPV models
  • Partner within finance to drive and implement best practices for financial tools and processes for financial cycles and analytical tools
  • Ensure data accuracy and help management team develop and tell the story of the business unit using that information (forecasting/budgeting, financial close, balance sheet integrity)
  • Interpret internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services
  • Prepares detailed models for executive consumption and develops presentation of results

Key Competencies
  • Proven competencies in communication, financial analysis and working across functions with different levels of management to drive results
  • Self-starter: able to maintain financial cycle deliverables, identify change and drive items to closure with limited management oversight
  • Experience with financial modeling and proficiency in using Excel. Experience setting up reporting database tools such as Quick-base is preferred
  • Experience with Semiconductor Equipment or Components Manufacturing is desired but not required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 3 - 5 Years of Experience
