The Senior Government Accounting Staff Manager will be a key technical leader on the Government Pricing and Controllership team, leading efforts to deliver on compliant government accounting practices. He/She will be the primary DCMA/DCAA contact for all technical matters on government rates and compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards.
Will be responsible for GE Aviation's Disclosure Statements and be a primary go-to contact for GE Aviation on government accounting. The manager will lead a team of government accounting professionals to support compliance and be accountable for the following operating responsibilities:
• Lead the businesses work in complying with Government rules and regulations; FAR, DFAR, CAS etc.
• Ensure Aviation Disclosure Statements are current, accurate and complete
• Train, educate and mentor within Aviation for government accounting related questions/concerns
• Build constructive and positive relationship with regulators and customers.
• Review clarity of links between Business Operations and Government Disclosures & Rates
• Interpret and implement Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Compliance focal point for audit issues
• Initiate and implement process improvements
• Develop team members and support career development and progression.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Minimum of 10 additional years of experience in a financial position.
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
o Familiarity/Expertise with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
