IBM Research is seeking a Lab Technician with experience in the semiconductor industry.
You should have experience working in clean room environments with the ability to troubleshoot and repair all aspects of semiconductor tools such as: films, metals, chemical mechanical polish, reactive ion etch, wets, furnaces, ion implant, metrology and microscopes. Also, have electro and mechanical skills, and be proficient with vacuum systems and have expertise in helium leak checking. Must be able to communicate proficiently by email, verbally and with the use of Microsoft Office tools. You must have the ability to troubleshoot problems over the phone with vendors, and schedule/coordinate vendor emergency and non-emergency visits. Must be willing to learn and / or have experience in toxic gas (cylinder changes) and hazardous chemical handling (chemical pouring). You must be willing to wear and use a respirator and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus to handle toxic gases, hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste. You must be willing to become certified as a New York State Hazmat handler and become a site wide Emergency Response Team Member. It will be considered a plus if you have experience in: Facilities Engineering, equipment installations, equipment start ups, laboratory rearrangements and project management. Additionally, lithography and wafer handling is preferred.
