Job Description
The Senior Legal Counsel - Healthcare will provide strategic legal counsel to internal business partners and leadership. You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial prescription benefit services (PBM) contracts with the Company payor clients. In this role you will actively advise internal stakeholders on an array of matters and work in conjunction with the team and internal partners on items related to PBM agreements, legal and regulatory compliance, and general corporate legal issues. Additionally, you will identify business and legal risks and provide solutions which balance legal issues and business objectives.

Your responsibilities will also include:
-Developing a deep understanding of the business and operational goals of assigned internal clients and work diligently to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients at all levels of the organization.

Collaborating effectively and working as a great teammate in order to provide practical and sound advice to internal clients on legal issues related to business objectives and take an active role in driving projects to final result.

Working knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, the False Claims Act, and the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute.

Expertise in negotiating and drafting a variety of complex contracts.

Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, initiative, drive and self-confidence are required.

Preference is for the position to be located in Northbrook, IL; Scottsdale, AZ; or Florham, NJ.


Required Qualifications
-5+ years experience of transactional or contracting experience with a law firm or healthcare company.
-
Admitted to practice law in at least one state.
-
Travel up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications
-8+ years contracting and/or transactional experience supporting a wide variety of corporate issues and complex contracts.

Health experience or PBM contracting is preferred but not required.

A graduate of a top tier law school with excellent academic credentials, commitment to high standards in a work product and strong business insight.

Education
-Undergraduate degree and Juris Doctorate required.

Member in good standing of applicable state bar association(s).

Preferred JD from top tier educational institution
