DSSD is a Menlo Park, California-based developer of an innovative new rack-scale flash storage tier that is now part of Dell EMC’s Emerging Technology Products Division. DSSD’s architecture complements Dell EMC’s industry-leading flash storage portfolio and is designed to deliver game-changing performance for I/O-intensive in-memory database and Big Data applications such as SAP HANA and Hadoop. DSSD operates as a standalone unit in Dell EMC’s Emerging Technology Products Division.
Lead a team of 10-14 appliance software development engineers. Appliance software includes management interfaces, both command line and web, as well as system coordination and health monitoring. Technologies include C, Go, node.js, and modern web application components. Develop product direction, based on requirements and technical capabilities. Evaluate and refine existing processes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
+ Mentor and grow existing team’s skillset
+ Work closely with other software development and quality assurance teams
+ Provide technical direction for team
+ Build schedules, estimate people and equipment resources
+ Accountable for HR processes and actions
+ Experienced manager with proven track record in leading software development teams.
+ Written and verbal communications
+ Strong background working with storage products, preferably flash
+ Experience with Linux platforms
+ Experience in bug escalation and triage
+ 3+ years of Software development experience in one or more areas of storage, networking, embedded systems
+ 3+ years of Software management experience in these same areas
+ BS or MS or PhD in CS, EE or related discipline or equivalent experience
