Senior Manager, Global Metrology: Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Metrology for our Jacksonville, Florida location. The position will lead a group of individuals of various engineering and scientific level to support the Consumer Med Tech sector, focusing on Vision Care. The position will be accountable for: the strategy for Vision Care end to end metrology ensuring continuous improvement and innovative design; the design and deployment of customized Optical Metrology Measurement systems into high volume automated labs and supporting device manufacturing on the line. Responsible for data analytics to support measurement capability improvement and instrument performance; instrument software systems to enable smart measurement; instrument interface with Labware LIMS; transfer of test methods from Research & Development (R&D) to production ensuring the robustness of the validation and capability of the method in the manufacturing environment. Position will manage the life-cycle of platforms in Quality Control (QC) and in-line manufacturing systems, including vendor management, maintenance programs, spare parts requirements and service programs. Manage large capital funded projects; lead program solving for product and instrument excursion; influence R&D organization to apply state of the art development methods; influence the QC organization to be prepared and enabled as a final user of the methods and instrument; lead the Vision Care metrology community work with multi-functional groups. Position will oversee engineers and contracted employees.
Qualified applicants will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Data Engineering, or a related scientific field, and eight years of experience in optical metrology. Experience must include: data systems, such as Labware LIMS; control systems, such as SAS, Minitab, SPC; product release systems, such as Electronic Device History Record (eDHR); Quality Control data management system Labware LIMS; optical design systems such as Zemax. Experience working in and managing a high volume automated manufacturing process. A qualified applicant will possess international project management experience in the metrology field; people management experience for an international technical group; experience designing high volume automated optical measurement solutions; experience with data management systems, including data collection and response systems; with data analytics; and with optical measurements of soft substrates; experience with measurement capability improvement programs for product and manufacturing platforms; experience with automated visual defect recognition and classification systems. Experience with Quality System requirements for measurement systems in the medical field is required. Up to 20% international and domestic travel may be required.
