The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence is responsible for
generating, integrating and translating insights and analytics into growth
opportunities and tactics that shape decisions and drive organizational action
within the Janssen Oncology Business Unit. This Senior Manager will also be
responsible for Business Intelligence Functional Leadership across Janssen.
This position will partner closely with brand teams, cross
functional partners, and external co-promotion partners, while serving as an
internal consultant to the Sales & Marketing team. This position plays a
key role in advising and counseling business partners in the development of new
and existing business strategies and as a result, shares accountability for
- Implement intelligence and research
approaches, identify appropriate supplier partners and foster strong
partnerships in the context of resources, timing and overall project goals.
- Create & implement comprehensive business intelligence plans (including
alerts, timelines, and competitive simulations) designed to communicate the
impact of competitive and environmental insights on brand and franchise
strategies and plans.
- Be accountable for conducting
intelligence and research activities in a compliant manner.
- Integrate intelligence and primary
research insights with analytical insights developed by peers across the
Commercial Insights & Strategy (CIS) team (forecasting and integrated
analytics) for the Oncology Franchise and translate these into business impact.
- Provide strategic input to help shape
strategic business plans, brand strategies and new product launch plans and
life cycle management for the Oncology Business.
- Lead all business intelligence
collection with field, acting as a key liaison and designing and managing
processes to collect, interpret and deliver field intelligence to provide
business insights and impact brand strategies.
- Focus on key business questions and frame business problems
into intelligence and research plans. Provide
integrated findings and insights that drive sales and marketing strategies for
their respective franchise teams as well as the portfolio.
- Responsible for designing and
executing search strategies for secondary sources to monitor business and clinical

report information by systematically using a variety of internal and external
sources to support the BI needs of the organization.

- Partner across the CIS team to integrate all

- Stay abreast of
emerging healthcare & pharmaceutical industry trends and assess their
potential impact on our franchise business strategies.

- A minimum of 7 years of relevant
business experience required.
- Competitive/Business intelligence
- Experience in market research,
marketing, sales, business analytics, strategic planning, or management
- Clinical/scientific knowledge a plus.
- Diversity of experience is preferred,
with demonstrated learning agility in order to be able to move across different
types of markets such as primary care/retail or specialty markets.
- Oncology experience is preferred.
- Experience working in a regulated
environment is a plus.
- Business/market experience and
industry knowledge to influence franchise/brand level decisions and strategies
- High level of knowledge of the pharmaceutical business and product
uses, benefits, and clinical development programs required.
- Requires strong analytical skills for business and competitive
- Demonstrated ability
with searching secondary methodologies (e.g. Dialog, Lexis-Nexis, Pipeline
databases, Internet, Patents, and Investor Research) and primary information
- Experience in intelligence
gathering and due diligence research required.
- Business acumen, strategic thinking skills required.
- Ability to integrate and leverage insights and analytics required.
- Experience in developing comprehensive and impactful
recommendations and solutions that drive key decisions required.
- This position is
based in Horsham, PA and requires up to 30% domestic travel (minimal
international travel), including some weekend travel
