Senior Manager, Platform Marketing - Endomechanical

The Strategic Customer Group within Johnson & Johnson’s Medical Devices is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Platform Marketing - Endomechanical to be located in Cincinnati, OH, Somerville, NJ or remote based. Those based in Cincinnati or Somerville may require up to 40% travel due to normal course of job. Candidates based outside of Cincinnati or Somerville will require significantly more travel for normal customer interactions and engagements at Cincinnati headquarters.


Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc. provides account management and customer support services to key health care customers, including hospital systems and group purchasing organizations (GPOs), leading health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, and government health care institutions. The company also provides contract management, logistics and supply chain functions for the major Johnson & Johnson franchises.


Within Johnson & Johnson Medical Device’s (JJMD’s) Strategic Customer Group, the Customer Marketing & Solutions department is responsible for helping establish Johnson & Johnson as the “partner of choice” with key health systems by developing and executing end-to-end customer marketing and solutions strategies aimed at helping health care providers reduce costs, improve outcomes, and advance patient satisfaction. The department has accountability for developing and aligning the Johnson & Johnson organization to a global solutions strategy and helping to build an insight-driven solutions portfolio both organically and through external partnerships.


The Senior Manager, Platform Marketing will lead the development of marketing strategy and resources that translate brand value propositions into relevant communications for Johnson & Johnson Medical Device’s (JJMD) strategic healthcare systems. 

  • He/she will be the primary contact for regional and global brand teams on assigned platform (Endomechanical) and will be responsible for sharing information on key industry trends and future data and evidence requirements to ensure long-term success of assigned brands in large health systems.
  • This individual will be a subject matter expert on their assigned platforms (Endomechanical), and will, at times, be called upon by account teams to interact with key customer stakeholders to defend, secure, and expand business.
  •  This role will also play a critical role in planning and executing all brand lifecycle events (e.g. launch, promotions, discontinuations, etc.) for assigned platform (Endomechanical) at strategic healthcare systems.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) and primary SCG contact for assigned platform (Endomechanical), ensuring coordination of all activities among SCG teams and supporting optimal positioning of prioritized brands & business solutions to healthcare systems  
  • Translates brand strategies into relevant tactics for the healthcare system customer, ensuring pull through of strategies within health systems
  • Partner with SCG deployment team and Franchise field sales team to help grow business by presenting evidence, insights, and deep subject matter expertise in Endomechanical
  • Identify critical needs of SCG field deployment team related to assigned platforms (Endomechanical) and coordinate development of tactics and tools to facilitate delivery of brand strategies to customers (i.e. support business reviews, GPO conventions, contract roll out, etc.)
  • Ensure launch readiness and discontinuation plans are in place (as applicable) for assigned platforms (Endomechanical)
  • Analyze dynamics of the healthcare market, competitive actions, and key customer needs to identify trends that are adversely impacting assigned platforms (Endomechanical) and/or creating opportunities for new business growth
  • Represent SCG in the commercialization process including pre-launch, launch, and post-launch plans for the development of new products and solutions related to assigned platforms (Endomechanical)
  • Provide input into S&OP forecasting process to improve customer supply and service levels for assigned platforms (Endomechanical)
  • Collaborate with key cross-functional partners: brand marketing, HEMA, supply chain, commercial operations, contracting, global education solutions
  • Required to understand Marketplace and Customer Knowledge, including assessing emerging and future market trends and customer needs
  • Understanding of value-based healthcare economics, payment and delivery models, and the role of health system decision makers
  • Business Processes, Policies and Strategic Objectives knowledge will be necessary
  • Develop global strategies and translate them into effective tactics to drive commercial excellence
  • Logically evaluate information, identify salient issues and draw sound conclusions
  • Ability to measure, test, and evaluate quantitative evidence


  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • An Advanced Degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant business experience is required
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in account management, sales, and/or marketing preferred
  • Experience in the Endomechanical industry is preferred
  • Experience in the medical device and/or healthcare environment is required
  • Deep understanding of the JJMD strategic product platforms is preferred
  • Strong strategic approach, business acumen and analytical skills are required
  • Ability to set strategies based on customer needs and business objectives is required
  • It is required to possess excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal at all levels, internal and external, especially attuned to the needs of healthcare stakeholders/customers
  • Ability to influence and collaborate, cross-functionally, in a multi-stakeholder environment is required
  • Ability to interact with and lead at various levels of an organization, including executives, key business partners, and peers is required
  • It is required to have the ability to make decisions independently and seek guidance where appropriate
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills are required


This position will be based in Cincinnati, OH; Somerville, NJ or may be remotely based. Those based in Cincinnati may require up to 40% travel due to normal course of job.
