Job Description

The senior manager is responsible for the regional manufacturing categories of indirect spend.

Responsibilities include the leadership, management and development of a team of indirect category managers to meet Eaton cost and supplier performance requirements at up to 200 locations in the NAFTA region with a spend exceeding $1B.

Role is responsible for the development and execution of supply chain category strategies, program and project management, supplier management, supplier relationships, supplier negotiations, management and collaboration with internal stake holders.

A. Leadership and management of a team of diverse and remote category managers to meet business requirements

B. Development and implementation of supplier and supply chain strategies that meet business requirements.

C. Management of a program of supply chain projects to meet cost, supplier performance and supplier reduction goals.

D. Supplier commercial management and relationship building to meet financial, operational, compliance and ethical requirements.

E. Negotiation of escalated commercial and operational issues.

F. Contract management to meet commercial, schedule and regulatory requirements.

G. Build organizational capability by actively managing, coaching and developing a team of regional category managers.

H Implement and sustain standard tools and procurement processes to increase productivity and efficiency. Share best practices and lessons learned and promote continuous improvement culture

I. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and internal customers to understand and ensure requirements are being met.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
12 years professional work experience with 5 years of specific professional experience in supply chain.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in engineering, supply chain, business management.
MBA in Business, Supply Chain or related area.
Professional supply chain related certification (e.g. CPM, CPIM).
Industrial operations experience with BU and/or corporate.


Preferred Knowledge and Training:
Prior demonstration of strong leadership and people management, including the ability to build organizational capability and drive results through others.
SCM sourcing and supplier management knowledge.
Demonstrated understanding of supply chain management, strategic requirements, challenges and solutions to win.
Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with a diverse group of stakeholders including senior management, engineers, operations and supply chain management personnel.
Successful track record of getting results and managing large, high value supply chain programs and/or projects.
Strong negotiator with knowledge, skills, and experience of negotiating high value transactions.
Demonstrated knowledge of contract management process. Ability to draft, interpret and negotiate supplier contracts.
Ability to leverage data and analytics to make informed decisions, including effective use of desktop analytics tools (e.g. Excel and PowerPoint)
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
Ability to execute in a matrixed environment with strong influencing skills
Knowledge of Lean methodology preferred with a demonstrated continuous improvement mindset.
