The Senior Marketing Consultant II, US Digital Marketing & Social Strategy is a newly created, strategic US Marketing role. This individual will be responsible for building and executing fully integrated digital, social, influencer strategies and initiatives for the MetLife Brand that drive customer engagement and positions MetLife as relevant, differentiated and forward thinking.



  • Create the vision and strategy for social for the MetLife brand in the US for key audiences
  • Develop US influencer strategy in partnership with Communications and PR teams
  • Collaborate with agencies, business units, US content strategy team and global social media and PR teams to test, calendar and develop innovative social marketing initiatives (on-going business and for specific campaigns)
  • Leverage data and gather insights to feed into brand strategy and make tactical recommendations to drive audience and engagement growth (with a focus on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, others TBD)
  • Review periodically cross-brand reports and summarize highlights for audience growth, traffic, and engagement across key social channels against KPIs for MetLife and key competitive brands (competitive ranking by vertical, top performing posts, benchmark audience and engagement metrics, key shifts in content trends, etc.)
  • Create success metrics for the strategy and business impact of its delivery. Monitor, measure, recommend and implement changes to support brand funnel engagement metrics
  • Lead development and ongoing maintenance of internal documentation on social best practices, “one-pagers” and guidelines for distribution to brand content and sales teams. Present findings and recommendations at brand meetings


  • 8+ years of brand digital, social media and influencer marketing experience
  • Understanding of a broad range of new and emerging digital technologies, channels, and platforms
  • Experience in developing innovative social media and influencer strategies based on segmentation, consumer insights, and brand positioning from conceptualization to implementation with measurable in market success
  • Strong understanding of social media marketing strategy and complete social marketing mix – 

    paid, organic, owned and earned

  • Sharp understanding and point of view on social media trends. Follows leading blogs, thought leaders and stays abreast of the latest content, product and marketing trends in social
  • Early adopter of new and emerging social media platforms – passionate about both being a user/consumer of social content as well as analyst/strategist
  • Experience with branded organization/company and agency
  • MBA or other advanced degree desirable.
