The Senior Operations Analyst will oversee operations and supply chain related projects. This position will drive continuous improvement behind JJOS and Lean/Six Sigma projects, cost improvement projects, operations metrics development, solution development, and development of management decision tools and models to be used in strategic long range planning Global Orthopedics Inc.
The candidate will perform complete analysis of the movement of people, processes, and products throughout the distribution center, monitor current processes, identify and analyze gaps, and develop process improvements. Gather and analyze data to develop strategic insights and recommendations on key transportation, distribution and process change initiatives. Conduct business analysis of operations data to support process excellence activity, and drive Inventory/Operations scorecards for safety, cost (productivity, headcount and overtime), quality, inventory, and other metrics.
The Analyst will work with MARC Warehouse Management System and Enterprise Resource and Planning (SAP) order entry and invoice systems to extract Oracle datasets to evaluate Customer Sales Volumes and impact on distribution activities on both a macro and micro level. Optimizes the location of people and process flow throughout the warehouse and coordinate the efforts with supervisory and management team. Ensures operations team replenishes, and regularly optimizes product picking flow and resources to ensure highest productivity, while improving quality, ergonomics, and inventory accuracy. Utilize statistical methodologies, software, and tools, including JMP or Minitab to conduct statistical analyses.
He/She will manage all Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) related processes, procedures and documentation. Deploy systems and tools utilizing skills in database management, SQL and spreadsheet analysis to help the organization increase cash flows, inventory turns, customer satisfaction, and associates' productivity. Provide support to all internal and external audits. Engage in process and external benchmarking and assessment of distribution innovation and best practices. Create, review and update critical operations procedures and work instructions. Interface with applicable internal (Operating Company) to gather information and provide input on all matters affecting the measurement of operational performance and data. Regularly communicates in all directions to keep associates, peers, and management informed of project status, process changes, and opportunities.
Lead operational excellence throughout the distribution process through collaborative efforts with Warehousing, Information Management, Customer Financial Services, Regional Transportation and the operating company Trade Relations groups, attending conferences and benchmarking companies to identify state of the art technologies, recent regulatory changes, business opportunities, and new customer requirements and recognizing and communicating the need for change and driving the change process. Helps site management in leading the Distribution Site goals, objectives, and roles and responsibilities. Supports the implementation of new product/new business requirements. Establishes plans that will enable efficient distribution center scalability to support product growth. Leads process improvement projects to improve services and/or reduce costs. Lead temperature studies for Global Orthopedics. Identify and explore new technology to enhance operational capacities, warehouse systems, costs, compliance, safety, on-time shipping, and accuracy.
Identify and lead benchmarking activities, participate in industry conferences and customer survey activities and integrate knowledge into Distribution organizational design, technology and process improvements. Ensure that the Distribution Site is prepared to successfully meet any internal or external regulatory compliance requirements such as VAWD, BCP, etc. Help site management lead ongoing critical short and long term capacity analysis and planning. Lead the development of the distribution Capacity Plan and Headcount Plan to support the operations to meet current and future business requirements.
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.
• An MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• A minimum of 4 years of related experience required.
• Possess strong internal partnering skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands is required.
• Experience managing distribution logistics projects and managing Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements, documentation, and procedures is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel is required, Access capability preferred.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are required.
• A demonstrated proficiency with database tools is preferred.
• Hands-on experience working with on very large databases (Oracle, SQL, etc.) is preferred.
• In depth, hands-on working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, JDE, MARC and Enterprise Resource Planning systems including SAP is preferred.
• Process Excellence methodologies, including Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or APICS (eg. CSCP/CPIM) certification is preferred.
• Minimum of up to 10% of travel both domestically and internationally is required for the role.
