The position will be responsible to: Oversee the payroll vendor in the preparation, documentation, and disbursement of all payroll checks, payroll taxes, and employee benefits payments in an accurate and timely fashion. Oversee the accurate processing of other payroll-related benefit deductions and required reports. Balance the payroll accounts and prepare all follow-up and related reports. Ensure that payments and government reports are disbursed timely and accurately. Establish policies and procedures for the payroll function.

In addition, this position will be responsible to: Assist in the administration of day-to-day operations of the Company’s group employee benefits programs, including ensuring accurate benefit deductions and providing the benefits team with support in ensuring data accuracy, reporting and review of benefit plans. This position will also provide project management, analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs.




Other Key Stakeholders: Works closely with key contacts in HR and senior leadership, the functional areas of compensation and benefits, legal, finance, tax, and manages external vendors and third-party administrators




  • Working independently, prepares payroll input and reconciliations to vendor payroll systems
  • Performs a variety of the complex payroll accounting activities
  • Computes withholdings and/or deductions where multi-state tax laws are involved
  • Investigates and resolves questions and problems on payroll matters. Serve as resource to others in the resolution of complex issues
  • Prepares payroll governmental reporting and compliance documentation
  • Serves as primary contact for payroll vendor. Evaluates and revises internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Ensures compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensures timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees
  • Audits the accuracy and performance of functions performed by payroll vendor. Performs plan audits. Prepares, collects, organizes and reviews data for actuarial evaluations
  • Assists in the administration of all employee benefit health and welfare, retirement and savings and voluntary benefit plans and programs
  • Provides excellent customer service support to internal and external customers
  • Maintains complete confidentiality and meets critical deadlines



Education/Experience/Business Knowledge/Technical Skills:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, or Finance or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of related payroll experience
  • Experience working with ADP as the payroll vendor
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PPT, Project and Access; experience with HRIS and payroll benefits databases
  • Strong project and team management/leadership skills and experience. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Capability of effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail; good oral and written communication skills, good customer relations skills, ability to apply payroll practices and policies; sound judgment and discretion
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to understand, evaluate and provide input on proposals (RFPs)
  • Knowledge of all pertinent payroll and benefit federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements.
