A Senior Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design Engineer job in Lakewood Ranch, Florida is available through Adecco Engineering and Technology. This is a six month contract with the possibility of extension. This position requires at least ten years of previous PCB design experience. Ideal candidate will design and support electronic hardware for the global communications medical industry. This is a position with Research and Development for Engineers who primarily work with PCB design. The work may be driven by development projects, maintenance activities, support and research. This is a senior-level PCB Design position using ECAD (EDA) tools for the layout of electronic circuits on a printed circuit board for medical devices, wired and wireless communications, telecommunication infrastructure components, and a range of supporting devices. This position will be primarily responsible for PCB design and support of global products, and will be largely independent, requiring a highly-capable, well-rounded, and efficient individual.

As the PCB Design Engineer, work involves collaboration with project managers, R&D engineers (Electrical, Mechanical, etc), manufacturing, supply chain, and others as needed. Expectations for this position include, at its core, a high level of knowledge and skill with the PCB tools, techniques, practices, documentation and revision control, and the PCB design itself. In addition, this engineer should possess a fundamental understanding of electronic design, advanced manufacturing (DFM) and test (DFT) considerations, and the impact of PCB Design on the translation of a well-designed product to a well-manufactured product.

PCB design standards exist, and synchronization with an overseas (EU) PCB design group on standards and practices will be required, with occasional cross-coordination and support as needed. This position reports into a US-based manager.

Senior PCB Design Engineer job responsibilities include:

High-quality, efficient/effective, and well-documented PCB design in accordance with all requirements, including mechanical, voltage, EMI/EMC standards, and certification agency requirements.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ years of PCB Design experience with an AS degree at minimum (BS degree is a plus) related to electronics.

REQUIRED: Understanding of electronic design and the effects of PCB layout on product performance.
PLUS: other experience with electronics R&D, manufacturing/CM, medical/regulated equipment, etc.

PLUS: Familiarity with UL, CSA, VDE and other electrical standards.
Applied knowledge and understanding of IPC standards for PCB design. IPC Certification (e.g. - CID+) desired.
Knowledge of, and extensive experience with ECAD tools, notably Cadence Allegro PCB Designer & Orcad PCB Editor (Pro).

Experience must include knowledge of tool setup, parts creation and library support (eg - schematic parts, footprints, 3-D modeling & stack-up, keep-out areas, etc), placement, routing, layer stack development, DRC/LVS/ERC rules/checks, DFx (eg - DFM, DFT including coverage, DFA, etc), Gerber & drill file creation.

PCB design/Layout experience including mixed-signal (digital/analog partitioning), high speed digital, RF and power, length and impedance matched signals, controlled impedance routing, differential pairs, signal integrity optimization, switching power supply considerations, clock distribution, BGA breakout, high speed memory device layout, Blind/buried vias, Power and ground plane utilization, EMI/RF shielding, etc.
