Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Operations (MCIO) is the team behind one of the World’s largest Cloud Infrastructure responsible for powering all Microsoft Products and Services as well as powering Microsoft’s “Cloud First” mission. We need skilled Program Manager with a passion for technology, a vision of the future, and sound business judgment to drive the organization forward.

The Capacity Management team within MCIO is at the tip of the Capacity Fulfillment promise for the Microsoft cloud, building the engineering systems that are needed to address this critical problem for Microsoft. We are a dynamic team working with customers across the globe in delivering to the promise of the Microsoft cloud. Strong empathy for the customer, deep engineering and problem-solving capabilities and the ability to stay nimble and motivated through challenges brought up by the constantly growing and expanding customer base and demand are characteristics of our team.

We are looking for a strategic Senior PM to own and drive the Capacity Management aspects for one of the expanding arsenal of Azure resources that already includes Compute, XIO compute and Storage. As the Senior PM you will be responsible for addressing the customer capacity needs and driving far-reaching strategic insights about customers and the services. Working with engineering counterparts in building the systems we need for decision making, developing customer and region-specific levers and supporting processes to aid in managing the increasing customer demand, working with customers in an advisory role and helping them optimize, delivering high fidelity analytics for regional and customer profiles that help in faster and accurate decision making are all major aspects of this role.

You will collaborate across a diverse set of stakeholders including the Azure engineering team as well as the business teams, the MCIO demand forecasting and Partner Engagement teams on a regular basis in high-impact decisions for building new capabilities that will help serve our customers better. Your ability to discuss the problem space at great technical depth and explore potential solutions with teams you interface with and maintain a trusted relationship with these engineering partners is essential for your success. Your deep empathy for customer needs for capacity is an essential element in our ability to overcome obstacles by championing the appropriate business needs and in our ability to deliver to a 100% Customer Fulfillment Reliability (CFR) metric that the org considers to be the mantra.

Basic Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience as an Engineering PM building and successfully delivering large scale software projects

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related tech/IT field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of design patterns and development practices to consume data from a variety of interfaces to light up custom business scenarios

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Proven success working in a complex environment and across a diverse set of business, engineering and operational stakeholders

• Proven track record of design and technical accomplishment in solving business problems at scale

• Master’s degree preferred
