We need a skilled Program Manager with a passion for technology, a vision of the future, and sound business judgment to drive the organization forward.

The Capacity Management team within MCIO is at the tip of the Capacity Fulfillment promise for the Microsoft cloud, supporting the capacity needs of a diverse customers base distributed globally. Strong empathy for the customer, deep engineering and problem-solving capabilities and the ability to stay nimble and motivated through challenges brought up by the constantly growing and expanding customer base and demand are characteristics of our team.

We are looking for a strategic Senior PM to own and drive the Capacity Management aspects for Azure Storage, one of the expanding and major pillars in our arsenal of Azure Resources which includes Azure Compute and Azure SQL. As a Capacity Management Senior PM you will be responsible for addressing the customer capacity needs and driving far-reaching strategic insights about customers and the services. Working with engineering counterparts in building the systems we need for decision making, developing customer and region-specific levers and supporting processes to aid in managing the increasing customer demand, working with customers in an advisory role and helping them optimize, delivering high fidelity analytics for regional and customer profiles that help in faster and accurate decision making, are all major aspects of this role. You will collaborate across a diverse set of stakeholders including the Azure Storage Engineering team as well as the business teams, the MCIO demand forecasting and Partner Engagement teams on a regular basis to drive high-impact decisions for building new capabilities that will help serve our customers better. Your ability to discuss the problem space at great technical depth and explore potential solutions with teams you interface with and maintain a trusted relationship with these engineering partners is essential for your success. Your deep empathy for customer needs for capacity is an essential element in our ability to overcome obstacles by championing the appropriate business needs and in our ability to deliver to a 100% Customer Fulfillment Reliability (CFR) metric that the org considers to be the mantra.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience as an Engineering PM building and
running large scale software projects and mission critical 24/7
online services

• BS in Computer Science or 10+ years of experience in a role
(s) with engineering or program/project management
responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree

• Familiar with Azure Storage and Windows Azure, cloud service
architecture, deployment and configuration

• High customer empathy and awareness - proven experience
interacting with customers in technical support roles,
understanding customer needs, passionate for supporting their
needs

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Solid knowledge of and experience with databases (SQL etc.)
to consume data from a variety of interfaces to light up custom
business scenarios

• Proven success working in a complex environment and across
a diverse set of business, engineering and operational
stakeholders

• Proven track record of design and technical accomplishment in
solving business problems at scale

• Solid communication skills and fluent in presenting analytical
insights to both technical as well as non-technical stakeholders
