MCIO is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. We are looking for a passionate, high energy individual to help build the network that powers the world’s largest online services. Datacenter Execution (DCX) is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on and operationally disciplined Solutions Program Manager to be a member of the team that is responsible for delivering key capabilities on a comprehensive and integrated enterprise platform in support of DCX and the delivery of datacenter capacity against our safety, quality, schedule and cost goals. This Program Manager will need to engage directly with DCX Business segments and be involved with or lead projects that require collaborative work across a matrix organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop a deep understanding of the DCX Systems business processes, constraints, problems, and opportunities for performance improvement

Collaboratively develop and document new portfolio and program management processes and methodologies, that leverage the expertise of the program managers who are responsible for planning and executing the projects

Evangelize and train stakeholders and partners on new processes, methodologies and automated solutions

Providing Business Partner input represented in both business and technical terms with descriptive requirements and design including mock-ups and process workflows, to ensure the value of the project is realized.

Ability to manage multiple workstream activities at the same time using an agile sprint delivery model

Drive continuous improvements with program and solution processes, methodology design, documentation, performance metrics, implementation, adoption, change management, training and support

Manage complex performance improvement projects that optimize the integration of multiple, interdependent projects into a single value chain program

Proactively contribute to the success of your team members, stakeholders and partners

Proactively communicate program progress, issues, risks, constraints and success


Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred

7+ years of related information technology, business, and program management experience

Experience with datacenter and cloud infrastructure, large-scale construction preferred

Experience using Agile methods and working on complex, integrated platforms

Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing training or experience, PMP, PgMP, and Scrum Master Certifications are a plus.

Demonstrated ability to build credibility at multiple levels within the organization

Deep understanding of program and portfolio management planning, execution and high value business intelligence to support it

Demonstrated experience with performance and process improvement

Exceptional problem identification and problem resolution skills

Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure

Advanced written, verbal, listening and communication abilities

Demonstrable experience with MS Project, MS Office, MS Project Server, Project Online, SharePoint and other Microsoft Cloud Services

Dedication to learning new technologies and capabilities
