Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a talented and enthusiastic program manager to help us continue building epic player experiences on our suite of game sites and mobile applications.

Blizzard's web and mobile properties - its franchise game sites, corporate sites, live event portals, and mobile applications - provide our games' players with rich, interactive experiences that extend engagement long after players have logged out of the game clients themselves. They provide an alternate viewpoint into the captivating universes that Blizzard has built, allowing players to stay connected with those worlds and their surrounding communities anywhere they roam.

The right candidate for this position is an experienced product developer who passionately believes in the power of player engagement and community building to enrich players' gameplay experiences. They will show that they can work closely with our design, engineering, and editorial team members to build a strong vision for our web and mobile products. They will also demonstrate the ability to engage directly with Blizzard game studios and service teams to drive the product development effort end-to-end across the entire company, delivering web sites and apps that are truly, "Built by Blizzard Entertainment."

Position Overview
This program manager will work closely with a team of engineers, designers, editors, and testers on the development of key projects across the Blizzard web and mobile portfolio. They will coordinate development with both internal developers and external agencies, helping source the right talent for each project. They will also help grow and maintain a roster of trusted third party partners with whom the web and mobile team can fluidly collaborate to provide additional development muscle when needed. In all efforts, this person will coordinate closely with our marketing groups and regional offices around the world to help enable key player outreach efforts around the globe.

  • Able to work with external vendors to initiate and review work to support stakeholder projects.
  • Can review and manage the quality of externally run teams.
  • Act as primary point of contact and coordinates development and QA resources to successfully release new products on time and within budget.
  • Provide motivation and direction to ensure that outsourced project goals, objectives, milestones, and deliverables are achieved.
  • Able to work with external vendors to initiate and review work to support stakeholder projects.
  • Can review and manage the quality of externally run teams.
  • Gather estimates from resources and create project initiation documentation (scope document, requirements document, request for proposal, and statement of work).
  • Identify, track, manage, and resolve project issues, both internal and external.
  • Ensure that solutions are of acceptable quality.
  • Work with other program managers to plan effective resource utilization and staff augmentation.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment between internal and external teams.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in web site or web platform development, preferably in the role of product owner, product manager, or program manager
  • Experience managing multiple projects
  • Skilled in risk assessment and management
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
  • Strong proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, project management methodologies, and performance management
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Scrum Master Certification
  • Scrum Product Owner Certification
  • Kanban experience
  • Expertise in issue tracking software, and other online project management tools
  • Familiar with foreign languages and cultures
