Job Location: United States : North Carolina : Cary
This position will be part of a team delivering and supporting IT Tools Center of Excellence (CoE) and IT System Development Platforms. It is the role of the IT Tools CoE to build and support platforms via means of automation and innovation to improve the software delivery process. The primary responsibility of this position is to drive the day-to-day tactical work by means of design, develop and deploy effective and sustainable infrastructure and technology solutions to meet the needs of (internal) IT partners who help deliver applications, databases and IT Services for the business. This role will help lead the team of engineers by means of driving program/project to success.
Identifies resources needed, assembles project team, assigns individual responsibilities
Communicates with Project Management counterparts, customers and project stakeholders to ensure continuing alignment with project objectives
Manages stakeholder (customers, vendors, etc.) and team expectations
Manages assigned resources to ensure on-time completion of planned tasks.
Identifies and mitigates issues and risks
Works with various areas of the organization within and outside the IT organization including clients, project members, management, vendors, and other LOB’s.
Leads IT project teams (virtual, matrix) and applies project management processes (including managing stakeholder expectations, communications, budget management, schedule management, performance reporting, etc.) to an IT project.
Maintains scope, cost and schedule of projects through management of the project or sub-project team and interaction with the Project Sponsor.
Serves as a role model by demonstrating commitment to commonly adopted processes and standards for project management.
Builds and maintains effective on-going communications and relationships between the IT project team and management to ensure that the IT project is completed in a manner that satisfies project objectives.
Oversees assigned virtual or matrixes project staff members
Bachelor’s degree required.
8+ years of working experience in IT or related experience
5+ years project management experience combined
Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate with executive sponsors is a must.
Proficient with project management concepts such as Scope, Communication, Financial and Risk Management practices
Detailed knowledge and/or experience with technology concepts and Software Development Lifecycle methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, etc.
Proficient with office automation tools such as MS Office, email, Internet, etc.
Excellent communication and analytical skills, inclusive of written, verbal and listening. Customer Service Orientation and strong teamwork.
Experience in communicating solutions to clients.
Working knowledge of DevOps principles
Knowledge of IT Tools such as Team Foundation Server, GIT Repository, Visual Studio, Release Management, Coded UI Testing, MS SQL SERVER
