This role will be responsible for receiving and processing remittance payments from policyholders and applies to policies, contracts, and/or benefit plans within corporate and legal guidelines.

Job Description

  • Preform customer reconciliations, bill creations and remittance identification / applications. Analyze, validate and process transactions to ensure accurate premium and remittance accounting.  
  • Analyze a diverse set of bank related activities, bank reconciliation of general ledgers, quality assurance and monthly metrics.
  • Maintain integrity of accounting information in appropriate systems and make adjustments.
  • Continuously communicates areas of opportunity to leadership. 
  • Identifies and makes recommendations for process improvements or training needs utilizing Root Cause Analysis methodology. 
  • Performs internal & external audits. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required such as but not limited to: writing and updating work instructions, systems testing, daily work assignment and provide training/guidance to new hires or less experienced members of the unit. 


Supervisory Responsibilities                                    

  • None.  May provide guidance to junior staff members.  


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • 3+ years of relevant business experience 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate strong, innovative critical thinking skills. 
  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve complex accounting/system issues.
