A Senior SAN administrator job in Chicago, IL is available courtesy of Adecco Engineering and Technology. **CANNOT WORK C2C** As a qualified candidate you must support EMC SAN and NAS devices and SAN Fabric switches at customer sites in datacenters in the Chicago, ILand remote (Virginia) areas. The candidate will be a SAN/Storage administrator who will be an active participant in a team of 18 SA's and will also be expected to perform server (Windows) functions, possibly including server builds, projects and moves.
Responsibilities for the SAN/Storage administrator will include, however not limited to;
Monitor and maintain EMC SANs (EMC VMAX 40K and VNX8000) with a total of approximately 1.2 petabytes of storage
Manage EMC VNX NAS systems
Manage zoning, disks, arrays, LUNs, and perform software/hardware maintenance as appropriate
Advise customer on efficient use of SAN storage to meet business needs (capacity planning & performance)
Plan and implement SAN storage for SQL, Oracle, VMWare ESX and Windows file servers
Provide monthly and adhoc reports on SAN/NAS environment health
Maintain and configure SAN Fabric switches
Maintain / create documentation
Use problem / change management tools
Participate in 24/7 On Call Support (server team rotation). This is a customer facing position and candidate must have strong communication & written skills. Must have good working knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012 and understanding of AIX. Knowledge of DNS/WINS, AD, VMWare, Avamar & Netbackup would be nice to have.
Resource is required to be on site in Downtown Chicago IL and some days in Lisle IL. There will be some travel to remote offices to perform; new installs of equipment, office migrations / consolidations, moves and decommissions, all expenses will be reimbursed.
Remote is not an option.
Note: We will only review candidates who have current working experience of EMC VNX and VMAX SANs, and Brocade SAN Fabric switches (not IBM Shark or SAN/Storage other products).
