Azure Commercial Experiences is seeking a talented senior engineer with a passion for good API design.
About the position: We are the Billing Platform team, part of the Azure Commercial Experiences group. We create the public and internal-facing APIs through which Azure customers purchase and manage the financial aspects of their Azure subscriptions. Our team is in the initial stages of developing a new generation of online services with ARM-based REST APIs, and we're looking for a technical leader who can help us shape the vision of what we're delivering.
Our goal is to enable UI and tool developers, both inside and outside Microsoft, to create subscription and cost-management experiences that delight and empower end users. The experiences that we enable are key to attracting and retaining Azure customers, and our APIs and services will contribute directly to the overall success of the Azure platform.
About the qualifications: As a hands-on technical leader driving the development of our new services, you would ideally have prior experience designing, shipping, and operating critical, production-level online services. Also, since our APIs are used across a variety of platforms and languages, you should ideally have a familiarity with or interest in learning about different programming languages and dev environments. You must have at least a BS in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent work experience, and you should you have a minimum of seven years of commercial product and/or service development experience. Knowledge of object-oriented programming and internet technologies is required. Proficiency in C# is highly desired. Experience with OAuth, REST, PowerShell, Python, Power BI, JavaScript, ARM, and the Azure platform as a whole is also highly desired.
