Senior Software Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Audio Lead for Story Remix. You are an authority in interactive audio systems design, tools development, scripting, mixing, sound design and implementation, as well as have excellent coordination and communication skills. You are able to handle working on a large team in a collaborate environment, and work with many different people and projects across Microsoft. Working on Story Remix, you will help to craft the way our customers experience and create their own stories.
The Technical Audio Lead is part of the Story Remix Audio Team, and represents them with a positive, professional, and collaborative spirit, both within Story Remix and externally to other Microsoft teams. You have an in-depth knowledge of audio processing and systems, and understand the unique environment of interactive audio, especially as it relates to complex parameter-driven systems.
You are self-motivated and can come up with creative and elegant solutions that increase the quality and experience we can provide to our customers. Working with audio professionals, programmers, artists, and designers, you engage in cross-discipline collaboration to solve complicated technical problems in a way that improves the product as a whole. You persistently chew through technical problems, and aren’t afraid to dig into the unknown.
• 5 years’ game audio experience
• College degree
• 3 Shipped Titles
• Experience in audio and game engine middleware & scripting (Wwise, Fmod, Unity)
• Proficiency/area of ownership within shipped products
• Coding experience, including C#, C++, Python, Lua (audio or Computer Science related)
• Understanding of audio implementation and scripting
• Expertise in written & verbal communication
• Experience with multiple DAWs, and a knowledge of common audio software currently on the market
• Sound Design/Music creation experience
