Are you an engineer that has a passion for working on large scale projects for one of the most exciting and diverse divisions in the company? Are you looking for big, creative challenges that show immediate results, given that your customers will be just down the hall? Do you want to be at the core of it all, acting as a force multiplier enabling fellow engineers to do their best work? If so, we have the perfect job for you on the Office Engineering Automation Team!
The Office system spans client applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; server products like SharePoint; and web applications like the Office Web Apps. Many of our products ship across multiple platforms and devices - Win32 (current and early alpha builds), Universal, Android, iOS and Mac. There are teams working on applications that have been around for decades, and there are teams working on v1 products. There are more than 4000 engineers working on more than 200 million lines of code verified by billions of automation executions a day. We are the team that brings order to this diverse set of technical work and keeps it running efficiently by developing tools and systems that scale well and are consistent, reliable, robust, and easy to use.
The Office Engineering Team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is ready to take on challenging projects to advance their career. The position offers opportunities to work across groups and disciplines in Office and across the company - with all the impact and recognition that comes with a role of that scope. Our team works with a wide variety of technologies with lots of C# and Python for our core infrastructure, and plenty of Big Data analysis to fuel our reporting and future decisions. We’re leaning in on new technologies like ES6 and Swift in addition to a smattering of other languages including Objective-C, C++, Perl, and SQL. We get to develop on, and for, cutting edge hardware - from the niche to the soon-to-be latest and greatest. And we work with the newest Windows platforms before most everyone else.
If you want an experience spanning a large breadth of programming languages, diverse hardware environments, and ever-evolving platforms, you’ll be right at home here!
