Microsoft Azure is undergoing dramatic growth as customers around the world realize the benefits of moving their services and applications on to the cloud. Security is the foremost concern for customers as they move their services outside their datacenter. The charter of the Windows Azure Security group is to ensure that Azure is the most secure and resilient cloud platform.

This is a critical role on a highly visible team responsible for crafting and implementing a new model for secrets and data protection at the core of Azure. You will be working in an exciting and dynamic environment to deliver and integrate highly-available, distributed services--working directly with customers and partners across Azure to deliver solutions end-to-end.

You will build and run foundational cloud services to seamlessly automate secrets creation, renewal and distribution removing all manual steps for customers. As well as providing claims-based, data protection service for encryption of secrets. Together, these services provide critical secrets infrastructure for Azure customers
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate software engineer who is technically proficient, customer focused, and wants to have broad impact across Azure. Your primary responsibilities in this role are to design, code, test, release and support new features that will help ensure Azure is the most secure cloud operating system in the world!

The ideal candidate would have a BS degree or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent), 5+ years of experience developing in services, be a proficient coder, and be able to quickly jump into new areas as needed. Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud computing platform is a plus, but passion and a desire to learn is all that is required!

Basic Qualifications:
• BS degree or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent),
• 5+ years of experience developing in services
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient coder, able to quickly jump into new areas as needed
• Demonstrated fluency in C#/C++/Java, with at least 3 years of recent experience
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
• Quality focused, with great design skills; proven ability to create loosely coupled and well-architected software services
• Experience with Microsoft Azure (or other cloud computing platforms) is a plus, but a desire to learn is all that is required!
• Passion for security a plus, but not required (esp. PKI, access control, or encryption)
