Senior Software Engineer
Microsoft Azure is undergoing explosive growth as customers around the world realize the benefits of moving their services and applications to the cloud. Security is the foremost concern for our customers as they move their services outside their datacenters. The charter of the Azure Security group is to ensure that Azure is the most secure and resilient cloud platform. We are responsible for identity and access management, secrets/key management, encryption and data protection, system lockdown and health attestation, and other security capabilities for the Azure platform running at the cloud scale. As more sophisticated and highly regulated customers begin their digital transformation and cloud journey into Azure, the demands of full transparency into what Microsoft personnel does when accessing customer data and customer Azure subscriptions increases. Customers want to have full control over access to their assets. Furthermore, customers want detailed visibility and insights into the authorization, audit, and access control data when Microsoft personnel do access their resources. Bottom Line: no Microsoft personnel should have access to customer assets without explicit customer approval. The lack of this guarantee is viewed as a significant Azure adoption blocker.
We are looking for a technical and passionate Software Engineer to help design and implement the end-to-end solution to the problem of audited, regulated, and adjudicated access to customer assets throughout the Azure platform. This is a unique opportunity building a new core security capability at the cloud scale. In this position, you will own key aspects of building and running a highly available and scalable service providing mission critical functionality for Azure.
With security being a top-priority for Azure, this role gives excellent and highly visible opportunities to make a significant impact in securing Microsoft vision of the cloud.
