Current Need  Sr Software Engineer


Position Description

  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs.

  • Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies

  • Participates in impact analysis, work breakdown, and estimation based on business requirements.

  • Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs

    • Interface specifications

    • System flow diagrams

    • Class and Sequence diagrams

    • Namespace/Package structure

  • Writes design documentation for self and others

  • Writes code for complex subsystems and to model patterns

  • May write prototypes to prove a technology or pattern

  • Reviews design and code deliverables to ensure that they conform to requirements and system architecture.

  • Responsible for designing and coding unit tests.

  • Responsible for designing and performing integration tests.

  • Knowledgeable about relational database concepts

  • Knowledgeable about client-server and n-tier concepts

  • Knowledgeable about scalability and redundancy concepts

  • Knowledgeable about application integration technologies including messaging and web services.

  • Knowledgeable about writing secure code.

  • Good at identifying how designs will impact customers like support and services

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks

  • May lead and direct the work of others in development

  • Will provide coaching and feedback to developers on the team.

  • Values teamwork and open to new ideas

  • Knowledgeable with Scrum process

     


 

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
6+ years experience in software engineering

Critical Skills

  • Requires 6+ years of experience in technical system design or software engineering

  • UML Modeling
  • Object Oriented analysis and design
  • Scrum methodology
  • Proficient in Java and JavaScript
  • Proficient in Objective C and/or Swift to develop iOS mobile application
  • Proficient in C/C++
  • Proficient with Datalogics SDK
  • Proficient with iText SDK
  • Proficient with EXT-JS
  • Proficient with Hibernate
  • Proficient in troubleshooting performance tuning and memory leaks
  • Database design
  • Use case analysis and development with a focus on system use cases
  • Proficient in full life cycle system development including: design, building, testing, deployment, upgrade and support
     


Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Software engineering background

  • Good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Strong planning and organization skills

  • Experience with offshore development

 

Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
