Build something big and new. Something that secures The Cloud, and all the stuff behind it.
If your heart just skipped a beat, we should talk! C&E Security State Engineering Team has an immediate opening for a star performer as we build a new vulnerability scanning platform that will help safeguard millions of Azure VMs, physical servers, network devices, and who knows what else.
We’ve been in this business for a long time, helping Microsoft’s online businesses do the thing that matters most for security – get the basic hygiene right. We detect missing security patches, insecurely configured machines, and other stuff we should talk about offline.
The online services are growing at an explosive rate, and our scanning system needs to scale with it. We heard about this thing that might help: people are calling it “the cloud”. Sounds like a cool thing, maybe we should look into it.
That’s where you come in. We need to design, build, and run the new system. And in the meantime, we need to keep the existing system in top condition. We’re looking for a skilled developer who also loves service operations. Someone who builds cloud services but also understands the on-premise world. Someone who can bring fresh eyes to the space but respects proven practices.
To thrive in this position, you’ll need:
• 7+ years experience as a software engineer
• Experience developing cloud services – Azure preferred
• Experience with C#, PowerShell, and SQL
• Service Operations skills – we run a true DEV/Ops model. Be ready to roll up your sleeves.
• Commitment to quality. We are proud engineers who write solid code and follow proven practices.
• Communications skills. Clear, succinct, targeted. Oral and written.
• Ability to pass cloud screening background check.
Wait, what about “security expert”? Why isn’t that on the list? Don’t get me wrong, we’ll take it if we can get it. Especially if it includes experience with commercial vulnerability scanners like Qualys, Nessus, and BeyondTrust. Or experience with security governance programs, and commercial/government compliance processes. But if you’ve got the DevOps skills, quality ethic, and passion this job demands, we can teach you the security part.
