YOUR MISSION:
 
Responsible for overall project coordination responsibility to meet or exceed schedule, quality, cost, and delivery targets.  Serves as interface for customer and program team issues.
 
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
 
  • Responsibility for overall product development leadership for embedded portions of connected service platforms.
  • Provides project development leadership, coordination, and motivation for the design team through project completion. 
  • Provides technical leadership in partnership with assigned software architects in breaking down system level requirements into software and software component requirements.
  • Ensures team successfully accomplishes stated project or functional goals and objectives.
  • Manages project schedule, cost, issues, and risks and ensure team meets objectives.
  • Communicates project schedule, cost, and development activities with team and management.
  • Coordinates, delegates and prioritizes development and functional activities.
  • Proactively manages critical path and open action items to ensure successful completion.
  • Ensures team compliance with appropriate customer requirements and processes.
  • Interprets, enforces and complies with Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Prepares reports, charts, graphs, and other statistical information.
  • Will initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
MUST HAVES:
 
  • Four-year College Degree in at least one STEM major (Science; Technology; Engineering; Math) and a minimum of five (5) years of experience; or a minimum of ten (10) years of full life cycle embedded software development in electronics products.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of developing software with object-oriented languages like C++ in embedded applications.
  • Three (3) years of Automotive embedded software development preferably with exposure to telematics or similar platforms.
  • Experienced with multi-process, multi-tasking or multi-threaded based Operating Systems (QNX, Linux).
  • Experience with POCO C++ libraries, QT Framework and Boost C++ libraries.
  • Expert knowledge of C/C++, debugging techniques, and performance optimization in RTOS environments.
  • Understands cross platform issues, solutions and technologies/frameworks and can learn new platforms quickly.
  • Experience with embedded databases, including working knowledge of SQL, relational data stores (e.g. Postgres).
  • Working knowledge of development tool chains (e.g. IBM Rational Team Concert, Apache Subversion…).
  • Experience in coordinating technical activities in conjunction with Lead Systems Engineers and System Architects assigned to the project.
  • Experience in coordinating, delegating and prioritizing development and functional activities, while managing critical open action items.
  • Experience interfacing with Customers on technical project issues.
 
PREFERRED:
 
  • Experience with intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
  • Mentoring and motivating team members.
  • Agile project management.
  • Developing products for the Automotive Industry highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian JIRA
